fault with installation

Hello,

I tried to install the latest version of filezilla on my linux mint 17.3.

when I try to run it writing Filezilla on the command line it says
Reading locale option from HOME
setlocale en_US.UTF-8 successful
locale set to en_US.UTF-8

Looks like you installed it already. Where's the fault with the installation?

Thanks for your answer.

It does nothing else. Only that and after that FileZilla does not run.

The provided binaries from here will not work. I am on Mint 19.2, and still I can only use 3.42.1. Mint 17.3 probably misses a lot of the required dependencies.

Compiling from source (including all deps) would be your only option.

I already installed the software from the source codes. But I dont know why it is not opening when I run the command 'Filezilla'

And you did mark all the binaries as "Executable"? In Linux, that's required if you want to execute files.

You could use a debugger to see where it's stuck.
