Hi,
I have been using Filezilla for some time to update my website. That has been working so far but I'm not technical at all. I just updated to a newer version and got the following message:
This server doesnt support FTP over TLS
If you continue your password and files will be sent in clear over the internet
□ Always allow insecure plain FTP for this server
I could hit ok to continue. But Im a bit worried now that my files and password will be accessible to everyone. I read somewhere that the files were accessible in earlier version anyway but you just didnt get a message.
Can anyone advise me what to do? How can I make sure that my files and password will be secured?
Many thanks,
Hees

Re: Doesn't support FTP over TLS
Old versions did not warn, now you are being made aware what's going on. Your login data was always at stake, with that server.
The only thing you can do is demanding FTP over TLS support from your hoster (they usually run the FTP servers, too). If they don't comply, change to a hoster that does support it. Voting with your wallet is the only language they speak.
