Connection Issue protocol_version question

Hello,
We have an openssh sftp server running on CentOS 7.x. We recently added a user for one of our vendors who uses FileZilla as an sftp client and they are unable to connect. I am able to connect via FileZilla and other sftp clients both internally and externally. The only difference I can see before the actual network connection error is their logs say protocol_version=7 were as our say 8. I'm curious as to what the protocol version is in regards to? I'm not sure at this point what version of the client they are using but I am on 3.44.2.

Thanks,

To get any support, you need to be on the latest version.
