Couldn't see a remote file after editing it

#1 Post by douglerner » 2019-11-13 02:27

I just used Filezilla to remotely view and edit a text file. After saving it, I didn't see it in the remote directory, even after refreshing, and even after quitting and restarting Filezilla.

I logged into the remote server via the shell and the file was there (whew).

I then tried Forklift (an FTP client on my Mac) and it sees the file.

But Filezilla doesn't.

What might be the issue?

Thanks,

doug

As you can remote SSH into the server, could you check if the server maybe did assign bad/wrong UNIX permissions and/or owner information?

Actually, it turns out I can see the file. I was looking by last modified date. That's what appeared to not be working. If I reorder in alphabetical order it's in the remote listing, and has the correct date (today), but if I switched to last modified order it wasn't showing in the right order. But... now it is. So... never mind. :)
