Problem with Client

Hello,
This is my first post and haven't used the Filezilla Client in a while as I haven't needed it. I am using version 3.46.2 of the client. I have 2 issues, I uploaded Zen-Cart to my website and needed to rename a file and a folder and received an error message, I also tried to change permissions on the same file/folder and also received an error message.
When I try rename a folder for which I will use generic names to expose the directory structure which issues command mv dirname /folder/newname no such file or directory
when I try changing file permissions I get the following results to the command chmod 775 "foldername"
error get attrs for foldername no such file or directory.
What is happening, has Filezilla made a change that will nto allow me to rename or change permissions of files and folders. I downloaded a trial of cuteFtp and was able to to rename the folders and change permissions of same
