Malware thingy thing

#1 Post by davesmiths » 2020-01-30 08:23

Hi

Thought I'd share that the following article came up when I searched after FileZilla didn't start for me on MacOS Catalina:
ht tps://s ecurity.it.miam i.edu/stay-safe/sec-a rticles/file zilla-issues/index.h tml

They concluded "it is best not to use FileZilla"; nothing about FileZilla Pro
Thought you'd like to know

all the best
Dave

That article is factually incorrect. A real shame for a .edu site.

The offer-enabled installers do not contain malware. All they do is presenting an offer for additional software and ask you whether you want to install it as well. Nothing is installed without the user's consent.
