impossibility to connect to any server

Sorry for my Frenc-written message: as everything is written in my mother tongue on my personal account, I thought my message would be sent to a French speaking forum.

Here is my big problem: After having downloaded FileZilla, I have tried so many times in so many ways to connect to a server.
All the time the access was denied because the adress was considered to be incorrect.

I have typed "htp://file zilla.sourceforge.net" and then "ftp://sourceforge.net" without any success!!!!!

I am using Windows with a PC platform.

What should I do?!?

I really want to use your software!!!!

Can you help me please?!?

To test thing out, I usually use ftp://ftp.kernel.org
