Client disconnect permanently

Hello Forum!

Since my Update from Filezilla Client 2.x to the newest Version 3.x i lost the connection after a few minutes to the FTP Server. I use about 50 different Servers. The Problem appears on every Server - but only with the new Filezilla Version. I searched for all the Settings, but i cant find a solution. I also checked the Checkbox: "Sende FTP-Verbindungserhaltungs-Befehle" - in english: "keep connection alive", but without success.

Thank you for your help.

Hi...
I've the same problem. I lose my connexion before the file was sent. If I want to keep my connexion alive, I have to reconnect or refresh every minutes...
I've not found any parameters to keep alive the connexion.
And I don't know why, but i can recieve .exe files (ie) , but I cannot .doc files.

thank u for helping me...

I had the same issue and found the fix.

You need to enable the Send FTP keep-alive commands option:

click Edit > Settings

Under Connection check the box for "Send FTP Keep-alive commands"

Click Ok

That's it! I think version 2 had this on by default, because I didn't have an issue with it until version 3.

I have activated this Option. But it don't helps. Filezille sends commands like "TYPE I", "NOOP" and "PWD". But after 5 Minutes he disconnect with "421 No Transfer Timeout (300 seconds): closing control connection.".
I use the german Version: 3.0.4.1

In the Log you can see the "PWD" Command. A few seconds later appears the "421 No Transfer..." Message:

Code: Select all

Status:	Sende Verbindungserhaltungs-Befehl
Befehl:	PWD
Antwort:	257 "/httpdocs" is current directory.
Antwort:	421 No Transfer Timeout (300 seconds): closing control connection.
Fehler:	Verbindung mit Server getrennt
Status:	Sende Verbindungserhaltungs-Befehl
Befehl:	PWD

Contact the server administrator to configure the server in a sane way.

I'm Webdesigner and i have more than 50 connections to different Servers an Providers saved in Filezilla. Filezilla disconnects all the connection after 5 Minutes. So i wouldn't write to all these Serveradmins. Furthermore i think that the Problem is Filezilla and not the Serverconfig.
Note: Filezilla 2.x works fine with this Servers...

There is a new Version. I updatet from:
FileZilla_3.0.4.1_win32-setup.exe
to:
FileZilla_3.0.5.2_win32-setup.exe

The problem is not away ;-(
Only the Errormessage changed to:
421 No-transfer-time exceeded. Closing control connection.

I also activated "Send FTP Keep-alive commands".

That's message from ftp server not client, some ftp server will drop the connection if just receive some non-transfer related command (like vsftpd, filezilla server...).

Filezilla's keep alive function won't work for such servers, and even for other servers without such function, FZ3 also won't send keep alive command always, it only keep alive for 30 minutes.

PS: FZ2's keep alive function will get same error and lost connection for them, but... FZ2 will re-connect after lost connection (FZ3 won't), that's why you think the keep alive function work well in FZ2.

Yes, thats right! I have tested it now with the old version.
So it's a Feature, not a Bug?
But - why do they have removed this good function?
