Copying sitemanager.zml from Windows to Ubuntu does not work

I am trying to copy the sitemanager.xml from my Windows 10 PC to Ubuntu to save having to enter them all again (30+ sites)

I tried to export the settings at first and I was able to generate the xml file to copy to the Ubuntu machine but when I tried to import on Ubuntu, it recognised the entries as site manager and settings but nothing was imported.

I manually copied the xml files from the Windows 10 PC to Ubuntu but when I try to connect to any of the imported servers, I get:

Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

In the Filezilla window I can see that it connects to the server but gets a Response: 530 User cannot log in.

I suspect this has to do with the hashing on the passwords not being the same.

Is there a way around this?

Which versions of FileZilla are you using?

The version of the importer needs to be equal or greater than the version of the exporter.

The version on the PC is 3.48.1 and the Ubuntu version is 3.7.3 and there is no 3.7.3 for the PC. I assume the Windows and Linux versions don't follow each other.

I also get "Error: Root certificate is not trusted" when I try to check for an update of the Ubuntu version.

Surely if I copy the XML files from machine to machine, this should work? I see the list of sites but I get the Critical error when I try to connect to any of them.

3.7.3 is truly antique, it belongs in a museum. You have to update.
