Failed to retrieve directory listing

#1 Post by rotorboy » 2020-09-26 00:51

After procrastinating for nearly a year, I finally upgraded to MacOS Catalina (10.15.6). I have Filezilla 3.50.0

Now Filezilla seems to connect but won't return a directory listing. It was working fine just 2 days earlier before the OS upgrade.

I've tried turning off the Firewall, allowing network connections under Security & Privacy, checking the forums

Nothing seems to be working. Could use some help please!

Thanks in advance.

What does it say in the message log?

The message I remember was 'Failed to retrieve directory listing'. It connected successfully, just timed out retrieving the directory.

Got this sorted now. I uninstalled and re-installed and now it works.

UGH!!!! :x :x :x

The problem is back again!

Filezilla connects but times out on the directory listing. This seemed to work after an uninstall/reinstall but I tried that again (and rebooting) and once again it's happening.

Anyone else having this issue? MacOS Catalina

Usually these issues are caused by faulty firewalls and NAT routers that interfere with the connection. They can be located either client-side or server-side.

Please refer to our Network Configuration guide for further information.
