Hi there
I am an infrequent FileZilla user. Today I opened FileZilla, and it prompted me to download the most recent version - this is normal behaviour most times I need to use it.
After the upgrade today, when FileZilla is opened the FileZilla icon appears in the taskbar (and FileZilla shows up in Task Manager, basically idle). However the client does not display on my screen. When I hover over the FileZilla icon in the taskbar the preview shows a mostly grey screen with a very thin line of colours on the leftmost pixels only. Clicking the preview does not change what is displayed on my screen.
I have tried minimising and closing all other active windows.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling FileZilla but the problem persists.
The FileZilla version I have downloaded and installed, and uninstalled, and reinstalled is 3.51.0.
I am running Windows 10 Home version 1909. I am using a single display - the inbuilt laptop display.
Advice appreciated, many thanks

Never encountered anything similar. Could you post a screenshot please? When I hover over the FileZilla icon in the taskbar the preview shows a mostly grey screen with a very thin line of colours on the leftmost pixels only.

Are you using any programs that modify the look and feel of Windows? If so, what happens if you completely uninstall them for a test?

No, this is a work laptop primarily used for browser-based applications. It's about as vanilla as they come.

Intel graphics by chance? Try updating your graphics drivers.

Re: Can't see client
I have found the likely cause of this problem, and fixed it.
CAUSE
I believe this is caused by the software getting confused by the Windows feature to extend the desktop onto a second display. I run my laptop in both standalone mode, and with the desktop extended onto a separate monitor to have two displays. At some point, in switching between the two, or changing the make/model of the separate monitor, FileZilla has ended up in a state where, when you open it, it behaves as though it is opening onto a Windows area that I can't see.
FIX
Unplugged second display. FileZilla now shows on laptop monitor.
Plugged in second display. FileZilla now shows on second monitor (extended display)
