STOP asking to update

How do I stop Filezilla from asking to update? My Settings -> Updates -> Check for updates automatically is set to Never. Yet every time I run version 3.48.1 I see this attachment. WHY? Why do I have to post for support to simply stop asking to update? Why is this such a nightmare?

You need to update to the most recent version. Outdated versions are not supported.

I don't want it to be supported. I want it to shut the hell up. So no matter what its always going to tell me to update? Even when I say Never? how god damn stupid is that?

Why don't you simply update?

Hello Tim! I agree with kenw232. There's an option to disable the update check. Expected behaviour: the program doesn't check for updates. But now it checks, whether updates are enabled or not. Please change back this behaviour.

It works as intended and no, it doesn't check for updates, as you told it to do.
What you see is an automatic obsolescence notice, as the built-in obsolescence timer has run out. Each official release considers itself as being obsolete after a long time without any update. That notice can be removed by updating.

I'm having a similar issue. We have a vendor that uses a FTP server that only works with FileZilla 3.0.10. We cannot update past that version for compatibility purposes. We set FileZilla to not check for updates, but it does it anyway. We have no desire or need to update, yet FileZilla is automatically updating without permission or user interaction. It is annoying as hell to have to reinstall FileZilla 3.0.10 every week.

Get a better vendor. FileZilla does not even update on its own.

While I understand your annoyance, 3.0.10 is 15 years old. I'd need a new hard drive for the size of the text file containing all the vulnerabilities that were found in that time, so I'd rather be scared rather than annoyed to know that there is data-exchange of sensible data (I suppose) taking place that relies on servers of that age.
