Trouble logging in to server

#1 Post by mpurvis » 2020-12-15 11:36

Keep receiving the same error. Our IT folks (in a different location) can log in just fine. Error message is as follows:

Response: 220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
Response: 220 You will be disconnected after 60 minutes of inactivity.
Status: Plain FTP is insecure. Please switch to FTP over TLS.
Command: USER dev@acucomplogin.com
Error: Connection closed by server
Error: Could not connect to server

any help/insight would be greatly appreciated.

Please test the server using our test site: https://ftptest.net

If the test succeeds (according to your report, it should), either your FileZilla is blocked by a firewall, or the server has banned your IP.

On the test site, you need to set protocol to "Allow fallback to plain FTP (insecure)" and repeat the test. Your server does not support secure FTP at all.

Looks like it's the firewall or the server banned my IP:

"Your server is working and assorted routers/firewalls have been correctly configured for plain basic FTP as performed by this test. However there have been warnings about compatibility issues, not all users will be able to use your server.

For maximum compatibility, consider resolving these warnings."
