#1 Post by o0Julia0o » 2021-03-16 18:08

i often have the problem that filezilla asks if the files should be overwritten, because a file exists already. But thre is no existing file, i an uploading on a complete new directory. So whats the problem here?

Look at the message log, there must have been a preceding failure of a transfer of that file.

The message log pane is at the top, below the toolbar and the QuickConnect bar. Usually it is very concise, vut becomes verbose once errors occur.

If a transfer into an empty directory starts and quickly fails, a small stub is already on the server. FileZilla will then reconnect and try to resume the transfer. If that succeeds, you will not even notice it. But, if resuming fails or is not allowed, you will get a question dialog asking what to do.
