Hi there,

I am trying to download a large file uploaded across the globe but the transfer keeps restarting. The furthest transfer was 60%, then it got restarted unexpectedly and automatically. I have then involuntarily restarted several times and can't get past 10%.

Please help what I shall do on my end or advise the file owner to change any setting!

FileZilla can resume transfers, but that does require the server to support resuming transfers. If it restarts from scratch, it means your server does not resume transfers and deletes partial uploads.

Thanks for getting back! Wondering if it is something to do with the file owner, such that they could perhaps edit the setting of transfer on their end to allow for resuming transfer?

Exactly. Server admin must activate support for resuming uploads.

Many FTP servers allow resuming of downloads, but block resuming of uploads, as, in theory, it could be abused for corrupting perfectly good files on the server.
