FileZilla Error

Hello,

When I choose any of my sites I get the following error that pops up (photo attached):

Error: Received TLS alert from the server: User canceled (90)
Error: Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

I had no issues in the past when this would come up and could still upload files with ease, but after the recent update - all my files fail to upload now.

After I tried to upload this message appears:

Error: TLS session resumption on data connection failed. Closing control connection to start over.
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

Any insights on a solution to fix this would be helpful!

This is a known bug in the FTP server software running on the server. Contact your server administrator or server hosting provider to have the server fixed or replaced.

We do not have a server admin or hosting provider.

Is there someone else on the FileZilla side that can help with this?

The server you're connecting to must be owned by someone. Mother Nature doesn't run any FTP servers, to my knowledge.

That person or company must fix the server or its configuration. If it's your FTP server, then that would be yourself.

Is there a reason why the validity period is expired?

Certificates are valid for a limited time span only. For that certificate, the validity period had ended and it is now invalid. The server administrator must renew it.

Just a "home user" using FileZilla client here; a couple of months ago I had the same problem as posted in the original entry: "TLS-session-resumption-on-data-connection-failed" in just about exactly one hour during large (over 1GB total) uploads to my SiteGround-hosted website. Subsequent troubleshooting revealed that this problem occurred during secure transfers ("Use explicit FTP over TLS when available"); "Only use plain FTP" (unencrypted) consistently worked fine. Many web searches later I found this: https://www.seedboxsolutions.com/client ... iled..html - which, in part, stated: "This is a bug/conflict introduced in v3.53 of Filezilla that conflicts with some server softwares. To resolve simply change to max of v3.52 until a workaround server side can be arranged or Filezilla correct issue their side."

I subsequently downgraded to FileZilla 3.52.2 client software - and everything works flawlessly again.

The replies so far seem to point at a server problem, but my issue was resolved by downgrading the client software. Hoping for further investigation...

You should never ever use outdated software, it puts you at great risk.

While I appreciate your concern for security, I WOULD use the current software - IF it functioned correctly for me, as it did three versions ago...

I have the same issue after I installed latest FileZilla version 3.55.1

I was trying to download files but after approx 20 of them FileZilla shows such errors.

No issues were with older versions for years. Maybe as you say issue is on the FTP server side but it works without any issues from 2014 and other software downloads files correctly as older FileZilla versions.

So I also downgraded FileZilla. It solved the issue.
