Check for updates

In the program settings I have to check for updates - "never".
But when the program starts, It always notifies (via dialog) that a new version is available.
It possible "never" without dialog?

You need to update to the most recent version, outdated versions receive no support.

you need to answer the question that I asked.
I am not asking for any support. Everything suits me.
I see program updates in the main menu too.
I see and update when I see fit.
Why the update dialog if in setting set "never"?

Note the precise wording of the setting: Check for updates. There is a difference between checking for updates and displaying known updates.
