Password after software update

#1 Post by HattinghW » 2021-06-06 17:14

Hi, I use Filezilla to do minor updates to a website, but was recently forced to update and now it seems to not accept my password:

Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Status: Plain FTP is insecure. Please switch to FTP over TLS.
Command: USER gracelif
Response: 331 User gracelif OK. Password required
Command: PASS **********
Response: 530 Login authentication failed

I can ping the host, do I need a new password?

Thanks,
Wayne

You should always update to the latest version and not just if you are "forced " to. Being on the latest version is the prime precondition for getting any support here, btw.

If the server rejects your login data, re-enter it from scratch into FileZilla and then try connecting again. Should the server continue to reject what you enter, you need to contact their support.

(Before you ask: No, we don't know the servers nor anything about the servers you connect to. We cannot tell you any server contact information, for that reason.)
No support requests over PM! You will NOT get any reply!!!
FTP connection problems? Please read Network Configuration.
