Hello.
I'm accessing files from a japanese server and all the files have names that include special characters. Even with UTF-8 encoding, for some reason they won't show up properly, and as result it keeps throwing mojibake. I contacted the administrator and he said the base encoding is actually shift-jis. How would I proceed to active this feature in FileZilla?
My second question is: I want to show a friend all the contents inside a particular folder through a text file. Is there a way to do so?
Thanks in advance.

You should convince your server administrator to switch to UTF-8. It's 2021, there is no need to use any other character set.
You can try to set a custom encoding in the Site Manager of FileZilla, but your success may wary, use of encodings other than UTF-8 is not guaranteed to work.
