I have had a frustrating week trying to upload VirtualMart and Joomla!, in all about 3500 files.
I have tried both a Windows and Linux server using CuteFTP pro and WiseFTP-5.
Every time a proportion of the files have failed to load, but neither CuteFTP or WiseFTP have warned of this or listed the files not uploaded.
Searching I found the post by canuckle 'won't transfer all files [SOLVED]' which outlined the same problem and a solution from Botg. A download of FileZilla and a simple change to limit the connections to 1 proved much better but the download kept 'hanging'.
Another search of this forum suggested a firewall problem.
A temporary suspension of both the router and software firewall gave all files bar 7 uploaded to the server. FireZilla told me which files hand failed to upload. So a simple upload of these and hey presto all files uploaded and VirtualMart up and running.
