Error writing XML file

#1 Post by Dankus » 2022-01-20 11:24

I have an issue where whenever I use filezilla I get the error: Could not write"C:\Program Files\FileZilla FTP Client\%appdata%\filezilla\filezilla.xml": Failed to write xml file. Sometimes the file is queue.sqlite3 or recentservers.xml

I'm guessing it should be looking at %appdata% and not in the FileZilla FTP Client folder instead but I have no clue what is up with it. Any idea what I've done wrong?

Do you have a file named fzdefaults.xml in the client's program directory?

Hi, thanks for your reply :D

No, there is no fzdefaults.xml in the c:/program files/filezilla ftp client/ folder

Something must be wrong with your Windows user profile. Try changing to a different Windows user.

Weirdly, it's intermittent. It happens on multiple accounts and sometimes it works and sometimes it errors.
