Creating a backup copy

#1 Post by denden60 » 2022-05-07 10:41

HI, Lately I have started to use the view and edit function of FileZilla.

Is there an option somewhere that would create a backup version of the file that I am modifying?

Hence the new file would have the name used on my organization's page, for example, image. png, but the older versionz would be called, image(1).png, or image(2).png, image(3).png as the same file is being edited multiple times.

Ok. Wouldn't this be a nice option to have?

When I upload a document this happens all the time. If not, is there a reason why this is not possible?

Thanks

The right tool for the right job. For backups you should use a dedicated backup solution. To keep a versioned history, a version control system is recommended.
