Password protect the app

#1 Post by hindle1951 » 2022-06-19 10:39

I've got several sites and am concerned at the possibility of someone else using my PC accessing them. I know I can blank the password field for each site and enter it each time but with strong passwords that's a major PITA I also appreciate that in an ideal world nobody but me would have access to the PC - but hackers/malware might for example. A single password to open the app would add a layer of difficulty, then storing them in the app. would be a time saver- if not in the free version then in pro?

If a cracker / script kiddie gains access to your machine, you have usually already lost. Remember, hackers are the good guys (and gals).

As for protection, you can protect all your passwords at once - with a master password. See the settings. Also available in the free version.
Warning: There is no way to restore a lost master password (not the Google/Apple/Microsoft "no way", but really and truly "no way"). Abandoning a lost master password is possible, it also abandons all passwords protected by it.

I'd not found that, thanks just what I need (but as you imply, it might be better if there was an emergency recovery option for the password).

Noting it down on paper and putting it to a safe place (safe, not pseudo-safe) would be the best option.
Each implemented recovery would make it more complex and thus more susceptible to attacks.
