Cannot open a remote file to view/edit

I have a website on File Zilla which has been working successfully for years.
Thank you File Zilla!
Using the site manager the remote site opens successfully with no problems, how ever when I try to open any file to view/edit in the right site it fails to open.
I get a message
Access denied
Error: Authentication failed.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server
Status: Disconnected from server
Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt...
Status: Connecting to home415519235.1and1-data.host...
Status: Using username "u68925687-BFSN".
Status: Access denied
This has just happened as it was working maybe a couple of days back.
Does anyone have any ideas how this can be rectified please.

Could it be one of those servers where a BOFH has limited the amount of concurrent connections to one?

Hello,
It has happened again. This year I have had no problems with the ftp on this site but now the identical problem to the above previous situation has occurred.
I can open the remote site with FileZilla with no problems.
But when I select a file to view/edit
I get the answer
Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt...
Status: Connecting to home---.1and1-data.host...
Status: Using username "----".
Status: Access denied
Error: Authentication failed.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server
This happens on any file I try to open.

The site is working OK.

Try limiting the number of concurrent connections to 1 in the Site Manager.

I reopened File Zilla after a couple of hours and the view/edit function is working OK now.

That confirms it, your server administrator is a BOFH that last has showered, coincidentally I might add, during the biblical flood.
