File extension saved on server in uppercase

#1 Post by DermotMW » 2022-10-03 15:38

Hi all,

Frequently when I upload a file onto my web server using drag and drop the file extension is rendered in uppercase even though it is not in uppercase on my file system.

So, today I upload a new image to my website images folder image.jpg and this became image.JPG on the web server. It is loaded on the webpage using CSS which has the .jpg in lower case in the CSS so the image did not load on the web page.

Does anyone know why this happens and why, since it has happened for MANY years, FileZilla have not, or cannot, fixed this issue?

To te best of my knowledge this does not happen with .png but I could be mistaken.

All the best,

Dermot

FileZilla does not change case of extensions. Perhaps this is something your server is doing.
