How to disable full screen mode on mac?

#1 Post by RLIndigotree » 2023-01-03 10:53

I've just updated Filezilla on my Mac and now the app launches in full screen mode, preventing me from seeing the doc or accessing other programs. How do I disable this? All the minimised and zoom options are greyed out in the windows panel.

Same issue here on Mac OS Ventura 13.1
App launches in fullscreen mode. There are no window controls on top, window shortcut commands are not working and in the menu all window options are greyed-out.

I have the same issue. MacOS Monterey 12.5.1 and FileZilla Pro 3.62.2. It's really annoying.

Same here. I use macOS Ventura 13.1, MacBook Pro. Yesterday I installed FileZilla 3.63.1. At first I couldn't disable full screen mode. After closing the program and opening again it was possible to minimize screen size and disable full screen. BUT when I'm doing this, the FileZilla main menu on top and the Mac Dock disappear. Which is annoying if I want to switch quickly between FileZilla and my coding editor. At the end I re-installad an older version of FileZilla although I know that for security reasons this is not the best solution.

Have the same problem. Filezilla app is always in the fullscreen mode after the latest update and there is no way to unfillscreen it.

Just updated to 3.64.0 and it still automatically opens in fullscreen as a separate space with no way to quit the fullscreen mode.
MacOS Ventura 13.3.1 (a).

To disable full-screen mode on a Mac, you can follow these steps:

Go to the application that is currently in full-screen mode.
Move your cursor to the top of the screen to reveal the menu bar.
In the menu bar, you should see the green button on the left side, which is typically used to enter full-screen mode. Click on it once.
Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Control + Command + F to exit full-screen mode.
By performing one of these actions, the application should exit full-screen mode and return to its windowed state. Repeat these steps for any other applications that are in full-screen mode.
