When larger files are sent, missing attachments are discovered upon receiving them. Help!

#1 Post by km4321 » 2023-07-06 18:08

Hi all.
To start off I have read Network Configuration, logs, and some similar posts but nothing I have read has explained this.

I use FileZilla Client a lot to transfer larger files for work.
This can take hours and sometimes days.
I usually always zip them using 7-zip.

Once the files have been successfully uploaded to their SFTP - we are noticing that there are many missing attachment files that were sent over originally.
The only thing I can think of that would cause this would be network disruptions but I am unsure?

Can anyone help with this and give me some advice on how to solve this issue? It keeps happening and when sending such large files its hard to tell what all is missing sometimes.

thanks in advance :)

I don't understand, what are "attachment files"?

Sorry, ignore that part. Thats just something we call certain files. Basically - Just some of the files are "missing"
For example, the one I just did - we found that the files jump from 26718 to 160825 and all patient codes between those two ranges are missing.
It is so odd.

Make sure all files are actually added to the transfer queue. Files that were never queued obviously won't get transferred.

If a queued file fails to transfer, it is moved to the failed transfers tab of the queue. You can re-queue the transfer from there. If the transfer fails again, check the message log for an explanation.

Thank you ! I will try this.

One other question, do you know what could cause this to happen? Would it be network connectivity issues?

Any number of possible reasons. Random connectivity issues are always a possibility though, the internet is inherently unreliable.
