download never completes

I've been transferring some large LiDAR files, (LAS format) over FTP using Filezilla. The files are really large - some as large as 10Gb apiece. Some files, I think the larger ones, reach 100 percent but continue showing a download continuing with file sizes increasing continuously. In fact it looks like the download file size is larger than the remote file size. What is going on here?

Hard to say without log data, but it might be an IIS FTP server with broken Resume support. It claims to support resuming after a break, but fails to set the resume offset correctly and sends the whole file again from the start.

Although FileZilla should check for that fault...
