Filezilla showing confused MVS directory listing

#1 Post by jeremymguthrie » 2024-02-02 19:53

I am getting a really odd directory listing issue when using Filezilla. We are doing explicit FTP over SSL via a SOCKS Proxy. That connectivity actually appears to be working. I going to attach a screenshot so you can see what directory details are listed and you can see how things are rendered.

Based on the output you see below: we can transfer TCPPARMS.TLSPOL using drag and drop, but short of that and the file just above it, nothing else is being properly rendered where drag and drop works. Really looking for any kind of recommendations here?

For what it is worth, we tested the same Filezilla client with another MVS FTP Server instance and that worked fine. We don't see anything in the debug that appears to be malformed that should trip things up.

Have you selected any Server type in the Site Manager or is it Autodetect?

Consider updating the used FTP server software to something a little bit more modern. Like something less than 15 years old or so that supports MLSD.

We have tried both the "Default (Autodetect)" and "MVS, OS/390, z/OS".

From what I am being told the software is current. We're going to compare FTP server settings.
