Hello,

Sorry if this is a common issue, I didn't find anything in the forum or FAQ.

When I upload a file into the server the status window says:

Status: Starting upload of C:\Users\Andy\Desktop\transfer file.txt
Status: Retrieving directory listing of "/data"...
Status: Listing directory /data
Command: put "C:\Users\Andy\Desktop\transfer file.txt" "transfer file.txt"
Command: local:C:\Users\Andy\Desktop\transfer file.txt => remote:/data/transfer file.txt
Error: error while writing: received failure with description 'Failure'
Error: File transfer failed

It also shows a popup to overwrite the file (even though there wasn't a file with the same file name) and repeats the process until I force stop it. In the end I have a file in the server with file name but has 0 bytes file size. Nothing shows up in the "Failed Transfers" tab at the bottom.

When I try to create a directory it says:

Status: Creating directory '/data/New directory'...
Command: mkdir "New directory"
Error: mkdir /data/New directory: received failure with description 'Failure'
Command: mkdir "/data/New directory"
Error: mkdir /data/New directory: received failure with description 'Failure'

I can navigate the server and download files. I tried accessing the server from a non-networked computer and got the same result. I'm on the latest version (3.66.5) and it was working a few days ago. I tried restarting and reinstalling the application with no improvement.

Any ideas or troubleshooting advice appreciated. I'm not the IT guy, and he isn't familiar with this software.

Sadly the server you are connecting to is a bit cryptic, it claims the reason for the failure is "Failure". You need to contact your server administrator or server hosting provider for assistance, maybe they can tell you why the server failures with a failure.
