Ver 3.0.7.1 very slow load and accessing local directories

I just installed the newest version 3.0.7.1. Unlike the previous version, which came up is seconds, it takes several minutes to load. Also, read directories on the local (windows) side is very slow. I did not experience this in the previous version. My guess is that the slow load may be related to the slow read since the last used directory is automatically loaded. OS is Windows XP.
