Hi guys,
1st post in this forum from me....Well I have a small problem with Filezilla. Here we go:
I want to connect to an ftp server with FTP over SSL (explicit encryption). I enter all the login details correctly, I select passive mode (as instructed by the admin of the server) and I try to connect.
Here's what i get:
Status: Connecting to students.cs.unipi.gr ...
Status: Connected with students.cs.unipi.gr, negotiating SSL connection...
Response: 220-Welcome to Students Support Server
Response: 220
Command: AUTH SSL
Response: 234 Proceed with negotiation.
Error: Timeout detected!
Error: Unable to connect!
Status: Waiting to retry... (5 retries left)
Status: Connecting to students.cs.unipi.gr ...

.
and the story goes on.
As you can see, it cannot go further the 234 response, which is when the certificate sent from the server should be received.
NOW, the WEIRD thing is that when i try to connect from my laptop which is on the same LAN (my home lan) as the desktop is, everything goes fine. I press Connect, I then receive and accept the certificate from the server and I login, that's it i'm in!!!
Can somebody please provide me with some help? Please note that I have all firewalls etc switched off and the same thing happens....I cannot connect from my desktop! I'm running winXP btw.......

Thank you in advance and congrats for this forum and the excellent Filezilla application!
Best regards,
Constantinos
P.S: I've tried loggin in with two other FTP clients (TurboFTP and CoreFTP) but I get the same problem....So clearly something's going wrong with my pc.....
