I need help with Microsoft FrontPage

OK, I'm old and computer illiterate, but have been hosting a website for a long time with FP and hate to give it up. Something happened around the 8th of the month and I can't get the website updated. I have been back and forth with Vianetworks all this time and they keep telling me that they can update my page (the date is changed on the index and default pages) and yet, I get nowhere. I must have 30 e-mails of things to do, but I am still unsuccessful. I noticed that when I publish there is an index page and a default page. I looked into them and they are identical. Should I remove the default page?

Do the files transfer to the server without problems? Because then it wouldn't be a FileZilla nor an FTP problem.
For the double index files, just delete one of them and check. If the website stops working, just rename the other file back.
