Connection Problems

#1 Post by mainfr4me » 2005-03-18 19:56

Hello,
I have been having some trouble with Filezilla working on a new laptop I setup for one of my programmers.
Currently, we use it on just about everyone's machine as the FTP client for connecting to our webserver and such. However, on this laptop, it does not seem to want to work.

This is what I can gather as far:
-Previous posts discussed problems with Norton Anti-virus, but we use McAfee Enterprise 8.0i here.
-I copied the xml file from the old workstation and still same issue.
-It appears to hang on listing the directory.

The server in question is a Sun Solaris box (OS 8 I believe??)

The desktop is a WinXP SP2, Latitude D800. Absolute FTP does work perfectly on the laptop, but we would like to keep everyone consistent in what they use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Please try to toggle the passive mode setting on the firewall page in the settings dialog. If that does not work, you might need to configure any router/firewall properly you're connecting through. See the FAQ for more details on that.

Yea, I feel pretty stupid now that it was in there. RTFM eh?

Thanks much, solved the problem. Also, accidentally, found it works decently from a USB flash drive.
