I was happy to see in the revision history:
3.5.0-rc2 (2011-05-16)
New features:
Added experimental setting to strip file revision upon download from VMS servers. Set "Strip VMS revisions" to 1 in FileZilla.xml to enable
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work. I'm using 3.5.0 and I added the following line to C:\Documents and Settings\me\Application Data\FileZilla\filezilla.xml, in the <FileZilla3><Settings> area
<Setting name="Strip VMS revisions" type="number">1</Setting>
Thanks for bringing this a bit closer to resolution.

Are you using server type VMS in the Site Manager?

Re: OpenVMS file versions
I am sure this is obvious, but where is the filezilla.xml file located on a Vista machine? I just loaded 3.5.0 and I also would like to remove the version numbers on files coming from our VMS server. I found the VMS server type, but not the xml file. Thanks!
Re: OpenVMS file versions
%APPDATA%\FileZilla. Should resolve to something like C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla.

Re: OpenVMS file versions
On my Windows XP computer it's at C:\Documents and Settings\user-id\Application Data\FileZillamjone147 wrote:I am sure this is obvious, but where is the filezilla.xml file located on a Vista machine? On Vista it's probably at C:\Users\user-id\Application Data\FileZilla (remember, Application Data is a hidden file folder)

Re: OpenVMS file versions
Thank you both - it works great now. I forgot about the hidden directory bit...
