Browsing the remote server with a keyboard is very annoying, because if you press Down multiple times, it scans the first directory, then moves the cursor back to the directory it just finished scanning. Navigating a server with the keyboard is practically unusable.
If it updated the directory listing information without moving the cursor, it wouldn't be so bad.
