You didn't follow the guide by the letter. Please start over, don't deviate in any step.

Nowhere, you followed the wrong guide. Again...

I hate to repeat myself but you left me no choice:

Hmm that sucks, looks like the file is gone.

Please try this:

Download ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/m4/m4-1.4.13.tar.bz2 to c:\dev\download

Code: Select all

cd /usr/src
tar -xvjf /c/dev/download/m4-1.4.13.tar.bz2
cd m4-1.4.13
./configure
make
make install
[/size]

Forget what I just wrote, it doesn't work.

Download http://filezilla-project.org/codesquid/m4.exe to c:\dev\download

Code: Select all

cp /c/dev/download/m4.exe /bin

I apologize for posting to a dead thread, but I have hit an error message that has had me confused for a few hours now. I followed the Wiki from top to bottom and restarted a good 6 times, but the error keeps popping up. The error happens during the FileZilla 3 configuration and it stops with the message "configure: error: idna.h not found which is part of GNU libidn" After I got that message the first time and after I restarted, I kept track if the file was ever being created and it does. However, when I get to this step I somehow lose it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks, there was a missing make install in the libidn section.

Thanks for the fast reply, That fixed that issue, but I still got an error with the configuration.

"checking for LIBGNUTLS... checking for libgnutls-config... /usr/local/bin/libgnu
tls-config
checking for libgnutls - version >= 2.8.3...
*** 'libgnutls-config --version' returned 2.8.3, but LIBGNUTLS (2.8.6)
*** was found! If libgnutls-config was correct, then it is best
*** to remove the old version of LIBGNUTLS. You may also be able to fix the erro
r
*** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable, or by editing
*** /etc/ld.so.conf. Make sure you have run ldconfig if that is
*** required on your system.
*** If libgnutls-config was wrong, set the environment variable LIBGNUTLS_CONFIG

*** to point to the correct copy of libgnutls-config, and remove the file config
.cache
*** before re-running configure
configure: error:
***
*** libgnutls 2.8.3 or greater was not found. You may want to get it from
*** ftp://ftp.gnutls.org/pub/gnutls/"

Is there any way I can download the older version or change the config file?

I got everything working perfectly now. I did have some issues with the Libidn since every time I tried running the make install command it would give me an error saying that there was nothing to make it on. After copying that step the same way as the others, everything loaded up perfectly. Thank you so much for your help :D

Hello.

Thanks a lot for a howto compiling. I want compile program for windows using. Simple way comile it at linux Ubuntu.

I install in Virtual PC - Ubuntu 10.04.1 and install latest updates. All work fine.
Next i do all steps from this howto.

All commands work fine, all passes.
Next compiling filezilla next lines:

Code: Select all

CFLAGS="-I$CFGPRE/include" CXXFLAGS="-I$CFGPRE/include" LDFLAGS="-L$CFGPRE/lib" ../configure $CFGOPT --with-wx-prefix=$CFGPRE --with-libgnutls-prefix=$CFGPRE
make
strip src/interface/filezilla.exe
Compilling done. I have src/interface/filezilla.exe
I copy this exe to my worked installed version filezilla on Win7, and try start, but nothing start - appcrash everytime.

And after compiling some dll mising on compile folder. I have only *.dll *.exe:
filezilla-3.3.4.1\compile\src\interface\filezilla.exe
filezilla-3.3.4.1\compile\src\putty\fzputtygen.exe
filezilla-3.3.4.1\compile\src\putty\fzsftp.exe
filezilla-3.3.4.1\src\fzshellext\fzshellext_64.dll
filezilla-3.3.4.1\data\mingwm10.dll
filezilla-3.3.4.1\data\nsis_appid.dll
filezilla-3.3.4.1\data\UAC_unicode.dll

fzputtygen.exe and fzsftp.exe starts ok, but i cant start filezilla :(

What problem i have? What wrong? How fix it?
I can put additional info and logs...

Thanks for you work.
