A couple times per year when daylight savings time changes it's necessary to resynchronize all the sites and other content between servers and archives because none of the FTP clients I've found can properly compensate for the issue. On some servers I use DST is supported and enabled by the OS, and on others it's not. In either case, what it amounts to is resynchronizing over 400gb of data over the wire, almost always by FTP. My local cache of these sites is split between machines/devices, as well, and sometimes it's the local end that is or isn't properly respecting GMT.
Anyway...
What I would *like* to have done is during large synchronization jobs like this I'd like to be able to set an option to reset the timestamp of the destination files to that reflected on the source files (either up or down) when the ONLY difference is that the timestamp has been altered due to OS daylight savings time compensation. Sort of a compensation for the DST compensation, if you know what I mean.
