In case this isn't clear, my request for functionality is in the FileZilla FTP client not the FileZilla FTP Server.

My request is to include functionality which would allow a user (if he/she chooses) to upload .SFV, .NFO, and FILE_ID.DIZ files FIRST if found any given directory that is being uploaded.

Want a specification? Any file names matching*.sfv, *.nfo and file_id.diz regardless of their content. Better yet, leave the file names in the form of user-definable list under either site specific or general options.

My links to Wikipedia were provided for anyone not versed with file_id.diz or .sfv and what purpose they serve. In retrospect, specification may have been a poor word to use.

SFV support in the server product may be what STEF (previously in this thread) was looking for. This functionality is supported in other FTP Server and FTP clients. Feel free to dig further if you wish.

STEF wrote:When upload to a server :

... to have the possibility to see the transfert status, rate, complet or incomplet files, with some FTP server understanding these .sfv files ;)

Best regards

I quote his (or her) post. Essentially (s)he wants the same, in his/her second point.

Now the developer's reply:

Know that. But they do not follow official standards and may or may not work correctly.

Hi

In a next version, I'd like to be able to force a transfer type (Binary or ASCII) for a given site. An option like Default / ASCII / Binary ("Default" referring to the current menu choice) in the site profile would be great !

TIA

I could repeat myself for the third time but apparently my request falls on deaf ears.

I COULD CARE LESS WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR SERVER PRODUCT.

My request is that the FILEZILLA FTP CLIENT (Not the server) allow for users to maintain a default file transfer priority list. This list would allow users to identify certain files (*.nfo, *.sfv, file_id.diz, readme.txt, whatever.123 FOR EXAMPLE) as being files to upload FIRST before other files any time a whole directory (possibly containing rars, zips, etc.) is selected to transfer to a remote site.

If you don't understand my request, read it again.

If you don't care to complete the request - that's fine. Good luck.

Incidentally, I love when quotes are taken out of context in an attempt to avoid answering legitimate requests...classic! HA HA HA

botg's post (the one I quoted from) is about the client. Other than maybe a few OT, the whole thread speaks about the client.

botg's stance is obvious: No formal specs or a very good reason = won't happen.

Honestly, under the Edit / Settings, Interface / Themes, there should be an option for font size. After all, you have a Scale Factor for graphics. Why not have a Scale Factor for fonts? With Windows 10, you have to download a 3rd party app to do this but it would be a lot more convenient to have it built into FileZilla as any changes to Windows 10 might impact other applications.

FileZilla uses the default font size of your operating system. Just change your system's font size.

But that changes a lot of things!!! All I want is larger fonts 'strictly' on my FileZilla! Honestly, I could reverse-engineer the application myself but that defeats the whole purpose of using a 3rd party application as well as changes would be overwritten by updates. This should be a core-feature of FileZilla.

Why?

Seriously? Have you 'ever' changed your Windows view size? Try it!

It shouldn't be that difficult to add a font size setting to FileZilla as it's just an override of the system setting just for the application. I've seen this setting in other applications.

Yes, plenty of times. Works like a charm.

Then I guess you can live with other applications being enlarged. For me, it screws up the view of other applications or at least I don't like the look it gives to other applications. I still maintain that this setting should be embedded in the FileZilla settings.

For the record, I have worked in computer technology and application development for over 40 years through the years of mainframes, mini-computers, early micro computers and every phase including I have owned a website development firm for 16 years so I know a thing or two about user-friendly use of computers.

What do you mean? Changing the UI scale factor just makes everything bigger or smaller, it doesn't change anything else.

If you go to the Display Settings, under Scale and layout, change the size from 100% to 125%, it does increase the size of the entire FileZilla application thus the fonts are larger. However, any other application is 'also' increased on the display. that is what the 'Scale and layout' does! Whatever is shown on the display is increased by the setting, whatever it is.

Now if we are talking apples and oranges, in other words, I'm talking about the 'Scale and layout' and you're talking about some setting entirely different, then tell me 'what' setting you are referring to.
