Filezilla 3 with Ubuntu

Hi folks,

Anyone could make the current snapshot of FZ3 work with Ubuntu Breeze for SFTP connections, without recompiling? I could get the binary to run, I can create new sites etc, but I can't connect to any site. I see that the SFTP auxiliary process is launched but it seems to hang (it eats 50% processor time in my P4HT/SMP Kernel box). Has anyone run into this issue and could fix it?

the same here, compiled from cvs (8/1/2006)
sftp doesn't work , ftp is ok.
