Filezilla Client Feat. Request: Recursive Directory Compare

#1 Post by Tachy » 2010-10-28 12:53

Hi there

The Directory Compare Function of Filezilla is only shown for files:
filezilla1.png
filezilla1.png (40.02 KiB) Viewed 7954 times
Is it possible to see the changes from my example in the inner Directory:
filezilla2.png
filezilla2.png (38 KiB) Viewed 7954 times
..... in the root-Directory after pressing a Hot-Key ("recursive compare"):

Filezilla have to (S)FTP LIST once all the directories by pressing the hot key (or button) and show the status in the uppermost shown directory.

Example:
filezilla1_new.png
filezilla1_new.png (40.14 KiB) Viewed 7954 times

To do so, FileZilla would have to traverse the entire directory hierarchy which would be a very slow, potentially endless operation.

What about a setting for the directory level, or at least to search only the files in the current level's directories? It would be so so so so useful. I usually have some directories and some files in those directories that change, and I don't want to enter each of those to check the files, and neither do I want it to search fully recursive since I don't have nested directories.
