I looked through the forums and the
FAQ and the wiki – no joy.
The bottom line:
If my focus is on a sub-directory
which has sub-folders and is currently
expanded, pressing left-arrow (I
would think) should collapse the tree
and leave the focus at the same level
(mimicking Windows' l-key behavior) –
not go to its parent, leaving the sub-
directory expanded as it currently
does now.
In other words, the l-arrow navigation
is not mimicking Windows arrow key
navigation in the directory view with
the left arrow key as noted above.
This would be a Nice to Have™.
I even looked for an Alt-key combo
or a Ctrl-key combo, but found nothing.
I also tried a vanilla [return], hoping
it would reverse the folder expansion,
but no luck.
In case my bottom line description is
confusing and I need to clarify, well,
no problem. I'll take the time to clarify
what needs clarification.
Warm regards,
Doctor Doug

Re: [feature request] Odd left arrow key behavior in dir tre
I cannot reproduce this. Left key works the same in Explorer tree as well as in FileZilla here.
Re: [feature request] Odd left arrow key behavior in dir tre
Cannot reproduce it, either. But please note you can also use the
Numpad + to expand one directory
Numpad - to collapse that directory
Numpad * to expand all subdirectories (only works locally)

Re: [feature request] Odd left arrow key behavior in dir tre
I forgot to say: Ubuntu 12.04.
On laptops, numpad isn't an option, but GTK.
