Does FileZilla's "Preserve Timestamp of Transferred Files" setting change the files, change the server?
I have another program we use to upload to our production server, which started showing the Last Modified Date as the Date/Time of upload. So I tried FileZilla and it did the same thing. Then I set FileZilla's "Preserve Timestamp of Transferred Files" and uploaded the test files again and the date changed to the actual Last Modified Date/Time, as expected.
I went back to our other program and was surprised to see that the 2 files I upload had the actual Last Modified Date/Time now. This would seem to indicate that FileZilla changed either the file or sent a command tot he server to change it. I would guess that it changed the file.
Can anyone explain what happens when you select this FileZilla setting? many thanks

Re: Preserve Timestamp of Transferred Files
FileZilla only sets modification times of the files it uploads/downloads. No other files are touched. But as you overwrote the same test files using FileZilla they got the correct timestamp.
