Uploaded Files show no characters ü, ö, ä in german language

Hi,

when I upload textfiles or pdf-files, which contain the characters ü, ä, ö, Ü, Ä, Ö, these characters are missing in the uploaded file on the server. According to the FileZilla settings it seems that there exist different editor solutions (standard, nonstandard, user solution). The standard editor and the non standard editor (if chosen by a hook) do not transscribe the above mentioned characters.

What can I do to transport these characters to the website?

FileZilla doesn't have any Editor, editing files is using external Programs. So, if you are talking file contents, the issue is not with FileZilla (since it doesn't care about file contents).
By the way, PDF files aren't text files, they are Binary. Please use the correct Data Type for each file type to avoid corruption. Also, use the correct character encoding inside the Editors you use.

As for file and path names, you need to connect to a server that supports UTF-8. Without that requirement, you are restricted to the lower half of the US-ASCII character set. Please, also see Character Set.
