Contribute New Search/Filter TextBox for Remote Site File Listing

I would like to contribute a new feature and I'm looking for guidance. I'd like to know if I can contribute this feature (if it would be accepted) and if so, how I would do that.

I would like to add a "quick search/filter" textbox just above the remote site file listing. I know this functionality is possible today with the "View > Directory Listing Filters", but I'd like to make it easier to perform a filter on the directory listing.

Unfortunately in this case this feature is already in the works.

Perhaps there's another feature you might want to work on?

Regarding the quick search, you can have a look at this feature in the latest nightly build. Press Ctrl+F while the filelist has focus top open the search pane.

Could be many things and it depends on how much experience you have as developer [1]. But must and foremost, what features do you want to see in FileZilla?

I have roughly 10 years of development experience. Most projects have been "enterprise"/"forms over data" asp.net websites in C#. Lately I've been focusing on data visualization and building more in JS with frameworks like d3.js. I help lead our local .NET User Group and speak at local/regional conferences.

I'm actually not even sure what filezilla is written in, but I was willing to give a quick search feature a go

FileZilla is written mostly in C++, with a few parts in C.
