I also FTP from my IDE, phpStorm, which has features to auto-detect the root path of the remote directory and also ability to open a file browser to aid in selecting the desired default remote directory.

When clicked, auto-detect auto fills the Root path field.

When the file browser icon is clicked it opens up a file browser:


I find these features really useful and would love to see them implemented in FileZilla.

Such a feature would only work in the most basic, trivial cases and such be useless in all cases such a feature would be useful.

That doesn't make an awful lot of sense to me. Do you have examples of where this feature would be useless?

For my use cases at least, that feature in PHPStorm is incredibly useful.
