Passive Auto Syncronization with USB Drive

Hello,

I'm looking for a way to configure the software so it will automatically pull down new/changed content from an ftp server automatically whenever the drive is plugged in to an internet connected computer. I'm hoping to set this up so the updating is passive and requires no user involvement once set up. For example an initial to do list is on the flash drive, but when the flash drive is plugged in it automatically finds the ftp server and pulls down the latest updated to do list version.

Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to do this.
