Uploading website to host failure

#1 Post by philbowie » 2009-03-14 10:29

Another geezer who does'nt know what he's doing, however:
Bought a domain name ,built a simple website, bought hosting , downloaded Filezilla for ftp software ,transfered files including
idex.html and got the following message :-

"Secure Connection Failed
http://www.my-domain.eu uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for *.hosts.co.uk
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

* This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be
someone trying to impersonate the server.

* If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error
may be temporary, and you can try again later.

Or you can add an exception…
You should not add an exception if you are using an internet connection that you
do not trust completely or if you are not used to seeing a warning for this

Tried again later and I arrived at my hosts website on a page which said that I must replace this page with my website page, which is what I was trying to do. I did delete the hosts "index.htm" file from the Filezilla remote site box and replaced it with my "index.html" file together with the file which make the website. I used apple iWEB to make the web page. Can anyone help me put my website up onto the WWW?
