Bluetooth

#1 Post by jonecoogan » 2010-01-26 04:44

My bluetooth disconnects everytime I am near a microwave. Mine or a friends, new or old; it doesn't matter. I was recently told it means the microwaves are not sealed properly and are leaking. Is that hokum?

It's the other way around, Blutooth devices give out too much radiation. The microwave is actively jamming your Blutooth device, otherwise it would interfere with the taste of the meal prepared in the microwave.

Joke aside, it's nothing to worry about, Blutooth and microwaves simply operate in the same frequency range. Blutooth uses tiny amounts of energy compared to a microwave. So if a microwave gets turned on, it's simply too loud for Blutooth. See http://archive.devx.com/wireless/articl ... 1a6900.pdf

I should try it. Maybe I should test it with a modem too.

Yes, it has nothing to do with your microwave being near your bluetooth device. One wont interfere with the other.

I have a similar problem, only my bluetooth won't work when I put my head in the microwave.
