I have to do a full report, all about FileZilla, here in school.

Please help me out a little, why is FileZilla a open source projeck...? Any one...

Erm, because the developer has chosen this type of distribution?

At some point more than 12 years ago it seemed like a good idea to do so.

Yeah I understand that, and I understand that it still is. But do U have a specific reason why, I really would like to have the answer for my school project...

The idea of Open Source software was (and still is) cool and was appealing to me. Sadly I cannot recall the specifics anymore, it's been too long.
